About
Sex @ Work focuses on the unconscious contributions, both instinctual and inspirational to your experience of work. Sex @ Work champions the idea that awareness of the unconscious aspects of our beings can make our collaborations more ethical, powerful, and human.
Couldn’t it be called something else?
No.
Thesis
The conscious, professional self has a narrow operating margin. The more of the unconscious we are aware of, the wider our operating margin. As unconscious dynamics come into view, new options for behavior become possible. This enables a richer contribution to the cultures you are part of.
Awareness of the unconsciousness is a core competency of the future; a world undergoing profound technological and cultural transition.
Minimizing the extent of our unconscious (both its transcendent and animal aspects) perpetuates confusion, burnout, disengagement, violation, and disassociation.
Increasing awareness of the extent of our unconscious (both its transcendent and animal aspects) perpetuates clarity, potency, ethical leadership, and the emergence of new potentialities.
Why Now
The technological thrust of this moment is the development of AI-powered systems that intend, among other things, to replace nearly all forms of human work. Whether or not this vision is realized, its pursuit is destabilizing: there are almost no governance and societal safeguards in place for navigating such a profound shift.
A hope is that the principles and practices in Sex @ Work may support increased collective coherence in a disassociated world. Starting with a form of internally-sourced stability for the reader. The technological trajectory includes the dissolution of market-defined roles (jobs). This project proposes we orient toward a broader concept of our human function; the ongoing composition of all the ways we relate and create; our individual and collective Body of Work.
The raw material of the unconscious can be repurposed into a resource employed stability, creativity, and leadership.

Forms
Book:
A NSFW employee handbook for orientation to a world where role-based identities are dissolving. In the same way a business wants high profit margin so that it is more stable during shocks and is resourced to innovate, Sex @ Work sees a widening identity margin as inherently profitable. The larger our sense of identity, individually and collectively, the more stable we are during shocks, and the more resourced we are for innovation within the creation of possible futures. The book won’t require sequential, linear reading or completion and it is designed to quickly
illuminate more clearly the unconscious patterns that are operative in our work.
give language for the range of our experience at work; from violating to transcendent.
extend the idea that increasing awareness of the unconscious is a core professional (and human) competency.
increase capacity for collective joining, for the emergence of new potentialities in general and within the context of a largely ungoverned transitioned into an AI-fueled world.

Re AI Usage: LLM development is the most comprehensive intellectual theft in human history. AI-powered synthetic biology, nanotechnology, robotics, and general intelligence applications will deeply serve humanity. And, in the words of Mustafa Suleyman, now CEO of Microsoft AI, “that doesn’t mean that it isn’t going to be the most scary transition we’ve ever been through as a species.”
AI will likely be used extensively within Sex @ Work to facilitate rapid spread, training on its content, accessibility of its themes, and availability of its human contributors. One intention of AI use in this project is to bring awareness to the aspects of resistance to AI use that are not integrity-based, but classist.
